QLD Yachting Participation Survey

We have created this survey to get feedback from sailors in the keel boat, sports boat and multihull divisions. Participation levels have been steadily falling and we would like to help the clubs understand why people are not entering as often, so they can make improvements, possibly create new event series and maybe even a Qld Yachting Championship that includes major events across the entire state including multiple clubs.

We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible, including any comments you have pertinent to the particular questions. This process relies on your thoughtful and honest responses to each question, so please take advantage of the sections to add your own insights.

Information gathered from this survey will be distributed to clubs and associations in order for them to make decisions on how best to move forward with some of Queenslands biggest events and try and improve partipation levels. Thanks for taking the time to complete this survey, and all answers are Anonymous.

Ocean Crusaders J-Bird is conducting this off our own back to try and help the sailing industry. We are not doing it for any monetry return or alterior motive, we just want to see sailing numbers increase across the board and start closing the gap between NSW sailing standards and QLD’s.

Some suggestions have been:
* Subsidised Compliance through sponsorship
* Lower category for some events if kept close to the coast
* Easier satelitte regulations now that starlink has come in (no Sat Phone requirement as Starlink covers this)
