There are a lot of organisations that talk protecting the oceans. We want to change people’s behaviour. Our goals are to…

Engage in intensive clean-up efforts to try and remove plastic and other waste from the environment.

Stop plastic, polystyrene and other materials from ending up in our oceans by changing consumer behaviour with the message – “Stop it at the Shop”. Don’t buy plastic.

Supporting companies working on new materials and solutions in the Blue Economy and Circular Economy innovation.

Our Motivation

We SHARE THE OCEANS

Ocean Crusaders was founded in 2010 after founder Ian Thomson was confronted with the reality of seeing turtles killed by ocean waste.

After a record breaking circumnavigation of Australia, Ian decided to take action – to create the foundation to clean-up waterways and beaches and raise awareness of the problem with the people who use the oceans as a playground.

The Foundation promotes the message to sailors through a successful racing program and sports marketing platform.
