I’ve touched on it many times before about the threats facing the Great Barrier Reef. Well UNESCO, a United Nations Environmental Council, is currently visiting our shores as they fear the governments short term financial gain from fossil fuels is damaging our reef to the point where the Heritage Listing is under threat.
Two officials will particularly visit Gladstone Harbour, the site of many issues relating to the Curtis Island development. Overnight a supertanker had a sign ‘Reef In Danger’ painted on the side to signify the issue that UNESCO are looking at.
